Death incidents of death caused by road accidents in Kathmandu Valley have reduced by around 13 percent in the Fiscal Year 2011/12, comparing to the fiscal year 2010/11.
According to a record provided by the Metropolitan Traffic Police Sector, as many as 171 cases of road accidents were recorded in the fiscal year 2010/11 while it was decreased to 148 in fiscal year 2011/12.
Similarly, the number of critically injured people in road accidents has decreased to 396 in the last fiscal year from 553 of the previous fiscal year. It is the decrease by 39.5 percent.
Spokesperson of the Sector, Dev Bahadur Bohora, told RSS the number of death incidents were decreased, following awareness programmes and effective implementation of traffic rules in the Valley.
