Over five dozen vie for vice chancellor post at TU, NSU

Over five dozen academicians have expressed interest to become the vice chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU) or Nepal Sanskrit University (NSU) after the two positions fell vacant on Friday.

The top positions at the nation’s oldest and largest university, TU, and the nation’s only Sanskrit university, NSU, have fallen vacant after erstwhile VC (of TU) Prof Madhav Prasad Sharma and Bidur Paudel’s (of NSU) four year terms ended on Friday.

Education minister Gangalal Tuladhar, also the co-chancellor, has urged interested eligible candidates to submit their action plan, if appointed VC. He has already received over five dozen applications, mostly from academicians interested to become the VC of TU.

Minister Tuladhar has said, he will short-list the candidates based on their background and action plan and take three names for each university for consideration to the Council of Ministers.
