Sharp shooter who murdered Jamim Shah shot at Pakistani embassy official: Police

Police have concluded the same sharp shooter who shot media entrepreneur Jamim Shah in Lazimpat a year ago shot the Pakistani embassy official in Basundhara on Thursday.

Police came to the conclusion based on accounts of eye-witnesses in both the cases, according to Kathmandu Police chief, Superintendent of Police (SP) Pushkar Karki.

Police have identified the sharp shooter as Indian national Mohammad Bakar Saiyed. They have also prepared his portrait based on the eye-witness accounts.

Pakistani embassy official Mehboob Asif was shot at by a motorcycle-borne assailant while he was standing on the roadside in Basundhara Thursday morning.

Police have also concluded the murder of Shaukat Beg in Butwal a year ago, Jamim's murder and murder attempts on Yunus Ansari and Asif were interlinked.
