Leaders of CPN-UML have dismissed the proposal of caretaker Prime Minister (PM) and senior UML leader Madav Kumar Nepal to nominate K.P Sharma Oli as a Constituent Assembly (CA) member after compelling one of the CA members of the party to vacate the seat.
PM Nepal requested senior leaders and UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal to nominate Oli to CA at a meeting in his official residence at Baluwatar, Monday. However, the leaders refused to consider his proposal.
Making his position clear, Nepal said he would only support Khanal-led government if the party ensures Oli's entry into the CA.Nepal also argued that Oli is the right person to shoulder the responsibility of acting chairman after the formation of new government headed by Khanal.
Besides Khanal and Oli, seniors UML leaders and some ministers were present during the meeting.
