The combatants who were found dead near Saina Maina camp of Krishna Sen Memorial Brigade under the fourth division of People’s Liberation Army a few days ago were murdered by two combatants of the same cantonment due to rivalry in a love affair, police said.
Revealing its investigation report at a press conference in Bhairahawa Wednesday police said, the combatants were murdered by Madhav Ghimire, alias Manav and Bikas, by mixing poison in alcohol and cola.
Chandra Bahadur Bohara and Bishnu Nyaupane of Mallahaz-1, Parbat were found dead near the camp a few days ago. Their post-mortem had shown brain-injury in one of them.
Police said, Ghimire had a love affair with Bohara’s wife Samjhana Chhetri, alias Samjhana, staying in the same cantonment. He planned to kill Bohara so that he could marry Chhetri. Nyaupane died by accident.
Police investigation has shown, Ghimire planned to kill Bohara by giving him poison and took him to a nearby jungle in pretext of drinking alcohol as liquor is not allowed in Maoist cantonments.
Nyaupane followed Bohara as a friend. After they got intoxicated, Ghimire mixed poison in the liquor and cola. However, contrary to Ghimire’s plans, Nyaupane died due to the poison while Bohara just fell unconsciousness. Then, Ghimire killed Bohara by banging his head on a boulder.
Police have arrested Ghimire and his girlfriend Samjhana. They were made public at the press conference. Samjhana was married to Bohara two years ago.
