Six killed in Makwanpur accident

Six persons have been killed and almost two dozen others injured in a road accident at Chaudhamile of Manahari, Makwanpur, this morning.

The accident occurred when a bus numbered Na 2 Kha 3348 en route Kathmandu to Sindhuli hit a parked truck numbered Na 3 Kha 4313 from behind. Both the truck and the bus skidded off the road after the collision.
Five persons died on the spot, while another died while undergoing treatment, according to the police. Sunila Adhikari, 21, a resident of Sindhuli was undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College, when she succumbed to her injuries.
Suraj Budathoki is another deceased. The rest of the deceased have not been identified.
The bus driver is absconding. Police have suspected, the accident could have occurred as the bus driver dozed off while driving.
Of the injured 8 of them are undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College and 8 of them are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur college. Others are undergoing treatment at Hetauda Hospital.
