Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal called on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the latter's office, Shital Niwas, discussing the country's current political scenario.
According to a press statement issued by Prime Minister Nepal's media advisor Bishnu Rijal, the Prime Minister told the President that he was "making every effort to bring the peace process to a meaningful conclusion".
Informing about his meeting with the leaders of six political parties earlier today, minus Unified CPN (Maoist), Nepal maintained that the Maoists were not showing seriousness to draft the constitution while the deadline for promulgation of the statute is inching closer.
President Yadav, on his part, emphasised on need for consensus among the political parties to take the constitution-making and the peace process to their destination.
The meeting between the Prime Minister and the President comes a day after the latter met the three top leaders of another ruling party, Nepali Congress.
