KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Army Integration Special Committee scheduled for today has been postponed to April 14.The meeting was postponed due to the busy schedules of the top leaders and the rumours of yesterday’s bandh, stated Nepali Congress leader Dr. Prakash Saran Mahat.
Earlier the Maoists had called a nationwide bandh to oppose the Machine Readable Passport deal with India. Later they called off the bandh after yesterday’s cabinet meet decided to cancel the MRP deal with India.Top leaders of the six political parties representing the committee are scheduled to participate in the meeting.The meeting is scheduled to discuss the number and criteria of the PLA fighters, among the party leaders.The leaders, who are members of the committee, were also scheduled to inform about the activities of the committee to date.
The meeting of the committee on Friday had failed to reach any agreement on the issues surrounding the army integration.
