New Year 2067 begins; Prez, PM, leaders stress on consensus for peace

New Year 2067 has begun Wednesday. People across the country and Nepalis living abroad are celebrating the beginning of year 2067 as per the Bikram Era by exchanging good wishes with each other.

Likewise, various organisation in and outside the country are organising programmes to mark the beginning of the New Year.
President Ram Baran Yadav, Vice President Parmananda Jha, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Unified CPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress (NC) acting president Sushil Koirala, CPN (UML) Jhala Nath Khanal, former King Gyanendra Shah and other leaders have issued new year messages to the people.
In his new year greetings, President Yadav has said, reconciliation and national unity is today's necessity.
Saying a fear about whether the peace and the constitution drafting process will complete on time or not ilooming large before the people, President Yadav said, the government and the political parties have a special responsibility in the year ahead to wipe out such fear.
Vice President Jha has wished for increased harmony among the people in the coming year, in his greetings.
PM Nepal has expressed his commitment to take the peace process to a logical conclusion by ending the differences among the political parties, this year.
In a televised New Year greeting message, PM Nepal said he tried for consensus in the previous and will continue to do the same in the year ahead. He also urged the political parties to forget the trivial differences and come to a consensus for the cause of a new constitution and a logical conclusion of the peace process
