At least six houses were gutted in fire at Itumbahal, a congested area in central Kathmandu, Friday evening.
Fire fighters from Juddha Fire Brigade, Nepal Army and police personnel and the locals were involved in extinguishing the inferno, but the fire was still out of control by the time this report was filed (8:00 pm).
The fire broke out due to leakage of cooking gas from the kitchen of a houses at around 6:00 pm, local residents said.
No human casualty was reported in the incident.
